[Video/Open Action Afterwards] [Some Summer Day]

[The feed opens to a wide shot of the LCHS football field. It's late in the afternoon and basically everyone has already gone home.

Then Robyn's peers into frame from above.]

Guys! Guys! You're never gonna guess what happened!

[She slides out from behind the phone and stand in front of it, smiling oh so brightly.]

I finally got one! An actual total honest to gosh super power~!

Turns out the rose petals were just part of something bigger!

Check this out!

[One second and Robyn's standing there normal as can be. In the next she's vanished in a puff of rose petals. A literal cloud of them can be seen circling the track around the football field in seconds flat.]

Ta-

[Robyn's voice can be heard calling out as she's about to complete the lap, but the last turn is too sharp and the cloud slams right into the goal post.]

-Da-augh!

[The cloud disperses and Robyn's revealed collapsed on the ground.

A few minutes later she raises up a thumb.]

I-I'm okay!

[This may be an unfamiliar voice coming over the network to Robyn. She'd been quiet after all, keeping an eye on things around here while interacting much more rarely.

In this case though... well, it's a slow night for her.]

You could have done a little better at the end there.

[Robyn has managed to crawl her way back to her phone by the time this comes through.

It definitely is not a voice she recognizes in the slightest.]

...It wasn't so bad... for like my fourth time doing it.

[Okay. She's not exactly brimming with confidence and she's a little disoriented.]

You uh- new around here?

... Still the same old Robyn, huh.

[Jasmine smirks fondly.]

Don't break too many bones.

[She's a little wobbly, but she's still smiling brightly.]

Oh, come on! It's the new improved Robyn! N-now able to crash into adventure faster than ever before... literally!

[There's a nervous giggle.]

Okay, so maybe it's the new Robyn, same as the old Robyn sort of situation.

It was pretty cool though, right?

[She'll return that smirk with a beaming smile.]

I should have brought some ice.

[Just the way she likes it. And she's sticking to audio only for now, although if Robyn listens closely she'll hear the sounds of the city somewhere in the background, if distant somehow.]

Not really.

[If it sounds like she's being obtuse on purpose, it's because she is.]

Did you hit the wall every time?

I mean, the fraction of what I was able to see with the naked eye was pretty good.

[Dark Precure's enhanced senses don't really work with video images.]

But. Hey. If you can control it you'll be pretty tough, I think.

[She is getting such a glare. I mean the best one Robyn can manage at the moment.]

Wha-no! It definitely was. You gotta believe me!

[It's the next question that really gets her.]

No. The first time was a complete accident. It went surprisingly okay.

The second time I tripped on my shoelaces and rolled down a hill.

The third time I caught waaaaay too much air.

Way different.

[There is urge to bounce merrily but when she makes the attempt she can feel her head swim a little. Instead she'll let herself just collapse on the ground. She'll hold her phone up to the sky and smile at the screen.]

You really think so?

Ohmygod. I'm amaaaaaaaaazing.

[Don't mind her. She's just on cloud nine right now.]

I think I might still need some more practice.

Maybe we could do that together sometime?

[She can glare all she wants. It's not particularly effective with that grass in her hair.]

Not that bad, I've seen these things go much worse. I ended up going through a windshield the first time I used one of mine.

[Not the best memory, all in all. Moving on....]

I get the speed part, but what's with the flower petals?

[Does the dirt on her cheek at least make her look tough?]

Woah, really? I almost got hit by a car once!

I think I've finally met someone with worse luck than me!

[She taps her chin in thought at that.]

Honestly? I have no idea. I got the flower petals first. The whole speed thing is new to me. A lot of the stuff I've gotten back is red. I seemed to have a theme going on.

Ah - Robyn!

[Another face pops in to check on her, and it's a familiar one, filled with worry.]

Mm... are you sure you're okay? [The first confirmation didn't sound sincere enough.]

[Robyn looks dazed and there is a noticeable bump on her forehead. Those are the main signs of injury at the moment.]

I... I think so. I’ll let you know once the field stops spinning.

[She looks to the camera and flops down on the ground.]

Was I cool, Rakka? Please tell me I was cooooool.

... Well, you might not be wrong.

[Rose petals first. That seems to be a distressingly common thing... getting some useless aspect of a power before the good part. Kind of like getting magical powers from swallowing metal but no idea what metals those are or which ones give which powers.]

Well, that makes sense with everybody turning into comic book characters.

[A pause.]

I feel like I should be less comfortable saying something that.

Wha-Really? Oh no. Well don't you worry. I've got your back if something comes up.

[Oh that's going to get a little giggle out of her.]

Isn't it great!? I never would have dreamed things could be so amazing a couple years ago.

Uh huh.

[Doesn't she sound convinced? Listen to how convinced she is?]

Well... I guess it's not all bad.

[And a switch to video. Not of the person speaking, of course, but rather of her view. Somewhere high up above the downtown area. Seen from outside, as if she was perched on the edge of a towering roof.]

[Too busy thinking of new friend potential to pay attention to that tone]

Yep. I mean you never know? maybe the both of us having bad luck will cancel it out and we'll be a-okay! That would be great, right?

[Oh there's a sudden shift to video that she didn't expect.]

Woah. You're pretty high up there. You going for that Betterman type of heroics? Perching up and waiting for any signs of danger before you leap into action?

But sure. I can help you practice crashing into things.

[Robyn can take the laughter. Nothing could spoil her day today. ...Unless she took another hit to the noggin'. that might do her in.

She's had a moment to recover from high speed impact and she's starting to look a little less dazed and woozy. So when Jasmine agrees to help her practice, she shoots up to a sitting position.]

You mean it!? That would be awesome!

Well I'd like to learn how not to crash into things.

[She turns her head back toward the goal post before looking back at the screen.]

But I might have a little ways to go before we get to that point. Do you think we could get some pillows or mattresses that I crash into instead? You know. Soft things?

Well, I don't have super speed most of the time, so there's only so much I can do. But I can provide general advice and someone to spar against.

But yeah, sure. But a few gym mats and bumpers would probably be better to try against than those things.

THIS SOUNDS GOOD AT FIRST - OF COURSE ANTHONY TUNES RIGHT IN! Off of the pull and pop-flash of curiosity! And under... assumption that Robyn will either explain what it is she's got, once the broadcast starts, or that he'll... be able to parse it out based on the sounds, or things she says...!

[Rakka winces sympathetically at the sight of Robyn's bump.]

[Robyn's a little wobbly after that. Crashing into object at high speeds is a new experience for her. One she would rather not get accustomed to.

She's still seeing stars when she gets back to her computer screen. She tries to literally shake the feeling when she hears Anthony's voice but that only makes it worse.

Instead there's a sound of a thump as she decides collapsing on the ground beside her phone is the best option.]

Uh-still figuring out how this works.

a friendly goal post helped me stopped though.

[She realizes that Anthony can't see what she just did.]

So I can run really really fast now. like super fast

It was pretty cool.

She gives Rakka a big dopey grin after she says that.]

[And then there's a little groan.]

Most of the time? Do you mean you have it some of the time?

[Colour her interested. It was always fun to find out just what all her friends could do.]

[She considers the gym mats and bumpers for a minute.]

Okay, yeah. We can use those too. I'll talk my dad into getting some of those.

...I wonder how he's going to take the whole super speed thing.

[Not to mention prone to her own bumps and crashes.]

How far? [Her head slowly tilts a bit to the right.]
